About Your Role
- Care at Home Assistants working for Homecare Scotland have the opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives. This role varies day-to-day supporting the more vulnerable in our society. This offers a level of satisfaction that is very difficult to match.
- Care at Home Assistants with Homecare Scotland are responsible for meeting the personal outcomes of those that use our services, in a way that respects the individual and promotes their independence.
- You will be required to travel to our Service User’s own homes and support them with daily tasks such as personal care and meal preparation, helping them to stay as independent as possible.
Essential Requirements
- You must hold a full UK current driving licence and have use and access to a vehicle – please do not apply if you do not hold this as your application will not be considered.
- You must have the ability to communicate efficiently.
- You must be self-motivated, well-organised and flexible.
- You must have a caring approach and the ability to be sensitive to the needs of others.
- You must have the ability to use your own initiative, work well independently as well as part of a team.
If you have never worked in the Care Sector previously, this is not an issue as you will receive:
- Full Induction Training prior to commencing work.
- Paid shadowing with an experienced member of our team, on the calls you will be allocated.
- Regular Refresher training to ensure your upkeep of skills and knowledge.
- The opportunity to work towards and complete your SVQ 2 or SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care.

Working Patterns
We offer a set working pattern on a 2 week rotation which means you will always know when you will be working and won’t be waiting for rotas to be populated and distributed. Alternatively if this is not something that suits your personal needs we are able to accommodate flexible working hours.
